WHY DO I HAVE TO WORK AT THE BVSC SWIM MEETS?
BVSC is a family affair. It is critical to the success of the team that parents be involved and volunteer for meets. In addition, these meets are an important source of revenue for the team. Not hosting meets would require significantly higher dues. Hosting a meet requires a great deal of work and all families need to contribute time and energy. Most parents find that getting involved is a great way to feel connected to the team, learn the sport and even make new friends. Please refer to the meet schedule to plan ahead for these meets.
We ask for family volunteers to assist with jobs that are necessary to run the meets and social activities. Some examples are timing races, ring at the meets, assist with our concessions, planning parties, etc. Additional descriptions of these jobs are provided later in this booklet. We require all families to sign up for 5 jobs related to our meets or social events. Not to worry, no experience needed! On-the-spot training and equipment provided. Booster positions require additional work. In recognition, taking on a booster position fulfills all volunteer responsibilities.
A Post Dated (July 31 of current season) Check for $150 will be required at time of registration. If all five volunteer jobs are not completed by the end of the season, the check will be cashed.
